Biography

I am an attorney with a private practice in west suburban Chicago for more than 35 years. I am licensed to practice by the State of Illinois, the U.S. Federal Court Northern Illinois District and by the Supreme Court of the United States. The majority of my practice is the area of family law including prenuptial agreements, divorce, post decree custody, visitation and enforcement matters. I also represent clients in the areas of wills and estates, probate, and other legal matters that are tangential to family law.

I have a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Southern Illinois University and received my Juris Doctorate degree from John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois where I worked as an editor of the John Marshall Law Review. Following law school I taught legal studies skills classes part-time and volunteered legal services to community organizations including the YWCA and local churches.

For periods of time throughout my career I have been a member of the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Association, the Will County Bar Association and always a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and its lawyer referral program. I have served a term on the judicial review committee of the DuPage Bar Association. I have been an active member of the Justinian Society of Lawyers of DuPage County since 1978, and for many years and served as its scholarship committee chairman.

I started private practice with a partner, Marianne D. Yacobellis, in Naperville in 1977. After my partner's death, I slowly downsized and closed out the firm's commercial, business, criminal and property development areas of practice to concentrate in the areas of family law, probate, wills and estates, and estate planning.

I am currently a sole practitioner. The office is automated and electronically capable.
